aw hell naw more help docs I just finished some help docs.

Here's what sucks about help docs: While you are writing a set of them, you are reading at least one set of them and possibly two or more, and then you are totally surrounded on all sides by help documentation--a hall of mirrors. If you're like me and your brain has been obliterated by motherhood and substances, you can actually forget what you're looking up and split the atom.

I coped by listening to Andy Gibb. What a talented little man. I'm still sad he and Victoria Principal didn't work it out.

The correct answer is Virginia.

Anyhow, I was like, "Yeah, I bet." Shrug.

Dear Owen Wilson (Nobody else look.)

I am single. It's complicated, but if you want to, get in touch.

The fact that you are a crazy asshound is not going to be a problem for me.

science is busting out all over This week my child has flunked a strep test and been diagnosed with staph. Fortunately the day prior there was a segment about germs on Fetch with Your Host Ruff Ruffman (a show some people don't like, but I am not one of them) and we were totally able to frame the whole thing as science. Boom! That's how I do it over here.

Even the swabbing part. It's science! ("Remember how those kids used pipets to take samples?")

Then I went into work, and the science kept on coming.

"So he was positive for strep?" asked Helpful Co-Worker #1. "And you say your throat hurts?"

"Uh huh." A sore throat in Austin is not a big deal. Pollen plants are to Austin as rainforest is to Suriname.

"You know, strep is very contagious."

Beemp-boomp went my IM. A Wikipedia link from Helpful Co-Worker #2.

Meanwhile, "You know, Helpful Co-Worker #3 is highly susceptible to germ disease." He really is. He got a stomach thing twice.

So I picked up the office cordless.

"You keep that," said Helpful Co-Worker #1.

Next day--today--we did the experiment. The doctor disagreed with the chemists' hypothesis, so he did not order a rapid test. There was concern this morning as I handled doorknobs and light switches and accepted a doughnut.

Result: No strep.
